Tucked away on the picturesque Waiheke Island, this property is now powered by a state of the art solar and battery system designed and installed by Future Energy. The homeowners were looking for greater energy independence and a way to future-proof their lifestyle – and we delivered a solution that does exactly that.

The system features 24 sleek LONGi black frame solar panels, combined with a powerful GoodWe 10kW inverter to harness the island’s abundant sunlight. To maximise self sufficiency, we installed 6 Tesla Powerwall batteries, each with 13.5kWh of storage, providing a total of 81kWh of backup energy. This setup ensures the property can continue running smoothly – day or night, rain or shine – with minimal reliance on the grid.

Whether it’s storing excess solar energy for evening use or providing peace of mind during outages, this project shows how renewable technology can empower remote and coastal homes to thrive.
