In Te Awamutu, our client set out to gain true energy independence by reducing their reliance on the grid. To achieve this, we designed and installed a robust solar and battery system tailored to their home and additional living spaces.
The installation includes 24 Suntech 440W solar panels mounted on the garage and sleepout, complemented by 5 hig efficiency Suntech 505W panels on the main house. This combination maximises solar energy capture across the entire property.
At the heart of the system is a powerful Sigenergy 10kW single phase hybrid inverter paired with an 8kWh Sigenergy battery. This setup not only converts the solar energy efficiently but also stores excess power, ensuring the home remains powered even during grid outages or peak demand periods.
By integrating the battery storage, the homeowner gains reliable off grid capability, allowing them to manage their energy use with confidence and flexibility. This system provides a sustainable solution that lowers electricity costs, supports environmental goals, and offers peace of mind through consistent backup power.
This project is a great example of how combining solar panels with smart battery storage can empower homeowners in Te Awamutu to embrace energy freedom and reduce their carbon footprint.
